TLD .it – having problems setting up a domain name in Italy ?

Are you having problems setting up Italian domain names ? Are you aware that the Italian TLD Registrar has issued a new procedure to set up .IT domain names ?

I’m very curious to hear what you have to say – this is your chance to voice problems you may have encountered in registering .ITs

SHAMELESS PLUG: I can offer this service to you via my company – you can talk to someone who understands your point of view and the Italian bureaucracy.

Make yourself heard, tell me your story about setting up .IT domains I’m pretty sure the right people will be reading this …

I’ve been trying to register an .it domain for the past 3 months. I am not sure why it’s taking so long. Is it the domain provider or Italian bureaucracy.

  2. Definitely not the bureaucracy. These days of “caos” things are slow and they are taking about 5 working days to complete the procedure. That is unusually long as a typical domain name registration process can take anywhere between 1 and 3 days. In principle, once the new registration procedure takes off (IMO will require at least a few more weeks for them to get it working properly) it will be quicker as they now foresee the possibility to send the registration letter via Email as an attachment.

So I’d say that the provider handling things is doing a very poor job if you are still out there waiting after 3 months.
