Seeking a great WordPress WYSIWYG Editor

Wordpress - Seeking a WYSIWYG editor for my WordPress

WordPress is great to use, I am very comfortable blogging with WordPress, especially now that I have sorted out multilingual blogging issues with a new plugin released recently.

But I do have a problem with the text editor when I create posts. It has a mind of it’s own when it comes to HTML and HTML coding.

For example if you want to embed a youtube video in a post forget doing it the simple way: no copy and pasting of the code provided by youtube – it just won’t work, because the editor doesn’t like the way the code is written so it fixes it for you, and at best your video isn’t showing up on your post, or it will break your template (like it did to me).

Not that I’m posting videos to my blog every other minute of the day, but when I see something I like and think you’d be interested in seeing i video posting to be simple and fast and from within the WYSIWYG editor.

So I decided to do without the WordPress editor altogether. I’m blogging with the very basic post interface and catching up on some HTML while doing so … but I think there must be a WYSIWYG editor out there that is a bit less intrusive and will mind it’s own business and leave my code (and your) alone – can you recommend and WordPress WYSIWYG editor that fullfills these requirements ?

I hope so – not that I have problems using HTML but in this day and age – and with WordPress at version 2.2.1, and with all you great developers out there,I find it hard to believe there aren’t any non invasive WYSIWYG WordPress editors. Looking forward to your feedback 🙂
